Todd A. Sherer

Mr. Sherer is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Illumination. Prior to forming Illumination in 2012, Mr. Sherer was a Senior Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Dalton Investments, LLC, where he was responsible for managing the firm’s distressed mortgage strategies. While at Dalton, Mr. Sherer managed the Dalton Distressed Mortgage Fund (Series), Dalton High Yield Mortgage Fund, and similarly managed separate accounts that peaked at approximately $525 million in asset under management. From 2002-2008, Mr. Sherer was a Senior Vice President at Countrywide Securities Corp., where he managed the credit sensitive trading desk and was responsible for trading whole loans and structured products. Prior to joining Countrywide, Mr. Sherer was a Vice President at Nomura Securities International, Inc., where he traded and structured FHA/VA loans and public and private mortgage backed securities. In 1996, he began his career investing in distressed mortgage loans, including performing “scratch and dent” whole loans, non-performing whole loans and REO assets at Ocwen Federal Bank. After leaving Ocwen Federal Bank in 2000, Mr. Sherer joined Matrix Capital Markets to head Mortgage Trading. Mr. Sherer earned a JD from the College of William & Mary’s Marshall-Wythe School of Law and a BA from the University of Pittsburgh

Natasha Guttman
Chief Financial Officer & Chief Compliance Officer

Ms. Guttman is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Illumination. Prior to re-joining Illumination, Ms. Guttman was the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Akanthos Capital Management LLC. Before joining Akanthos Ms. Guttman worked as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Illumination. Prior to Illumination Ms. Guttman was an Accounting Manager at Dalton Investments, LLC. Before Dalton, Ms. Guttman was responsible for managing the fund of funds accounting group at Coast Asset Management. From 2004 to 2007, Ms. Guttman was a Senior Auditor at Rothstein Kass, where she planned and performed financial audits of numerous hedge funds, broker–dealers, and investment advisors. From 1998 to 2004, Ms. Guttman conducted market research for financial institutions at Informa Reserve Services (formally BISYS). Ms. Guttman earned an MBA degree and Bachelors of Science degree in Finance from California State University, Northridge. Ms. Guttman completed the Wharton School Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional Program and received the CRCP designation.  Ms. Guttman is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of California.

Peter Harrison
Board Member

Mr. Harrison is a Managing Director of Illumination’s investment strategies and serves on Illumination’s Board of Managers. Previously, Mr. Harrison was a Senior Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income Capital markets for Wunderlich Securities, a full service investment bank and brokerage firm.  From 2009-2014, Mr. Harrison was senior managing director at Manhattan Capital Markets, a boutique mortgage focused investment company and the head trader of its broker/dealer subsidiary. Prior to Manhattan Capital Markets, Mr. Harrison spent 10yrs as a senior vice-president at Countrywide Securities Corp, where he led a team of 10 traders and managed an $8B securities and whole loan trading portfolio. Before joining Countrywide, Mr. Harrison spent 5 years at Freddie Mac, working in the cash flow modeling group and later on the securities trading desk. Mr. Harrison holds an AB in Economics from Dartmouth College.

Greg Jacobson

Mr. Jacobson was the CEO of Manhattan Capital Markets, the parent of MIMS and other affiliated financial services companies since 2009. From 2005 to 2009 Mr. Jacobson was a Managing Director of Countrywide Securities Corp. and ultimately was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Countrywide Capital Markets Asia assuming oversight of all non US operations of the investment bank, including trading operations in Hong Kong, Tokyo and London. Before joining Countrywide Securities Corp. he was the Chief Operating Officer of KB Home Mortgage (2003-2004), the CEO of ClosingGuard Inc. (2001-2002), the founder and COO of Countrywide Warehouse Lending (1999-2001) and an owner and the President of Arlington Mortgage Investors (“AMI”) from 1990 to 1999. AMI owned various subsidiaries that engaged in mortgage banking, whole loan trading and mortgage finance. Before starting AMI, Mr. Jacobson ran mortgage trading at two independent mortgage bankers and attended Georgetown University.
